Sobermate 2 FAQs
How accurate is the Sobermate S2?
The S2 uses the Andatech FxCell fuel cell sensor, delivering accuracy of ±0.01%BAC at 0.05%BAC — the same trusted sensor technology used across the Sobermate range.
How long does a test take?
After a 5–35 second warm-up, you blow into the mouthpiece for a few seconds, then the device analyzes the sample in 3–22 seconds before displaying your result.
What does the WARN light mean?
If your result is over 0.05%BAC, the red WARN indicator lights up along with an alarm sound. A READY light means your result was below that threshold.
How often does the S2 need calibration?
Every 6 months or after 500 tests, whichever comes first. The device will alert you when it’s due.
What batteries does it use, and how long do they last?
Two AAA alkaline batteries, good for approximately 1,000 tests. A flickering yellow LED means battery voltage is low — replace with fresh, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries for best accuracy.
Can I take another test right away?
It’s recommended to wait 2 minutes between tests to allow the sensor to reset and give you an accurate reading.

Does the S2 store previous test results?
No — the S2 doesn’t have a memory/recall function. Each test displays its result immediately after analysis, but results aren’t saved for later viewing.

5–40°C for operation, and 0–40°C for storage — keep the device out of extreme heat or cold for reliable readings.
Is the S2 certified?
